How to file

The filing process at MLRIT.

Faculty and students approach the IPFC with an invention disclosure. From there, the centre runs the full process.

Disclosure

Submit an invention disclosure form to the IPFC for novelty evaluation.

Prior Art

IPFC conducts patent searches and assesses patentability.

03

Drafting

Specifications and claims drafted with empanelled patent attorneys.

04

Filing

Provisional or complete specifications filed with the Indian Patent Office.

05

Prosecution

Examination, office actions and hearings handled with IPFC support.

06

Grant

Grant certificate received; commercialisation and licensing explored.
